Changing the Paradigm of Consultancy Services

The SAP consulting ecosystem has been making incremental improvements in its service offerings and delivery methods. Driven by a desire to serve clients better and adapt to the ever-changing business needs, its efforts have yielded significant growth.

Beneath the surface, however, the software remains tethered to traditional consulting models— marked by lengthy implementation cycles and rigid offerings that have seen little change over the past two decades.

Then came AutomationUI. Led by visionaries who saw the critical need for change, it is injecting innovation and new life into the domain.

“Most firms talk about advancement but continue with business as usual. We saw that as a huge opportunity—not just for us, but for every client we work with,” says Francisco Morales, global director.

AutomationUI disrupts the status quo of SAP consulting by emphasizing efficiency, transparency and client-centric solutions. It addresses the root causes of traditional pain points in SAP projects, such as overruns and under-delivery, with a model that emphasizes optimized resource utilization and the integration of cutting-edge technologies.

This approach allows it to run lean projects that meet and exceed client expectations, making SAP implementations less cumbersome, more cost-effective and genuinely beneficial for clients.

A Win-Win Strategy Beyond Sales

The advisory role it takes on establishes mutually beneficial relationships with clients and sets AutomationUI apart.

“Our servicing cornerstone is that we put our customers in a position where they request a solution based on their needs, and we take care of everything else. They just come back to test the solution, that’s it,” says Pamela Flores Silva, global delivery director.

The team collaborates closely with customers to analyze critical data, including current infrastructure expenses. This analysis covers ERP maintenance fees and costs associated with infrastructure, integration and redundant applications, which can be eliminated by adopting the appropriate SAP application.

They also help clients build a technology-driven business case along with financial figures, enabling them to make the right choice between staying with an on-premises solution or moving to S/4HANA Cloud.

This strategy ensures both parties achieve their objectives, creating a win-win scenario. By focusing on the client’s needs rather than pushing a particular product, the firm builds trust and becomes a genuine partner in the client’s success.

Ensuring Implementation Success through Continuous Innovation

Once a strategy is in place, AutomationUI employs a range of innovative methodologies to streamline the implementation process. For greenfield implementations, where the client starts fresh with a new ERP system, the firm uses a specific method that automates up to 80 percent of the work, significantly reducing the required time and resources.

For brownfield implementations where the client is transitioning from an existing ERP system, the company helps them efficiently transform and move to the new SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

AutomationUI stays engaged, helping clients adapt and optimize their solutions even after implementation.

“Many times, they have a solution but don’t use it the right way and eventually abandon it and start making new developments,” Flores notes. “We help them continuously improve their adoption and use of the solution.”

This ongoing support includes helping clients automate their business processes, integrate systems and reduce manual data entry and other repetitive tasks. By leveraging AI, AutomationUI can run many projects in parallel with a lean team of consultants, passing the efficiency and cost savings on to their clients.

“Every time we design a project, we sit down with the customer and say, ‘Okay, this is what we want to do, this is our strategy, this is how we run projects, and this is the experience we want to give you,’” Morales explains. “Then, of course, the cost is a consequence of that. We can provide a lean solution at a very fair cost to them.”

"Our servicing cornerstone is that we put our customers in a position where they request a solution based on their needs, and we take care of everything else. They just come back to test the solution, that’s it"

This culminates in a distinct pre-go-live simulation, where the firm runs a real-world system test to ensure it meets the client’s needs. After going live, a dedicated post-sales service team stays in contact with the client, ensuring they achieve the expected business benefits and making any needed adjustments. The process might involve coordinating with customers to develop a road map that adds new functionalities. Customers are assured of getting the business benefits they expected when they started the journey with AutomationUI.

Walking the Talk

AutomationUI’s approach is a boon for customers navigating the challenges of the current business landscape, where financial constraints and resource limitations are prevalent. It helps companies implement or upgrade their SAP systems without overextending budgets or overburdening staff.

“What we hear from them is, ‘Don’t come here to try to sell a $2 million project because this is not what we need. We need a partner who can design solutions for us at a fair cost or help us improve our efficiency,’” says Alejandro Altman, global I&D director.

The company consistently surpasses these expectations, delivering tangible benefits and real value to its clients.

A prime example is when it was in the middle of an SAP implementation for a manufacturing company. The client expressed concerns about their employees spending excessive time preparing service entry sheets at the end of each month. AutomationUI designed a solution using standard SAP functionality and their proprietary technology to eliminate this workload, allowing the client’s employees to focus on more valuable tasks and strategic activities to drive business growth and efficiency.

In another instance, a client was considering purchasing niche solutions for manufacturing and maintenance to support their business processes.

They had been informed that the production planning and plant maintenance of standard SAP modules were expensive and complex to implement. AutomationUI provided guidance, explaining the capabilities of these modules and offering to implement them at no extra cost as part of their service. This saved the client unnecessary expenses and the need for additional integrations.

The Power of Referrals
Feedback for AutomationUI remains consistently positive, largely due to new customers from referrals. Clients often act as the company’s best salespeople, sharing their positive experiences and attesting to AutomationUI’s reliability and exceptional service. Strong client relationships and word-ofmouth have been instrumental in the firm’s growth.

“At AutomationUI we are aware of how privileged we are to be living in the century that will revolutionize and change our lives forever, that is why we are not only moved by the real and tangible business opportunity that exists, but also by the opportunity to transform the life of each of the collaborators as well as the businesses of our clients. It is our passion; we love what we do,” says Morales.

Success is further bolstered by its well-structured and distinctive team, divided into three functional areas. Commercial, led by Morales, has established high-level contacts across various industries and ecosystems. Flores heads operations, guaranteeing the timely delivery of projects and fostering exceptional customer experiences. Innovation and development, directed by Altman, a seasoned SAP consultant with two decades of expertise, is pivotal in keeping AutomationUI at the forefront of technological advancement. Customer service is a collaborative effort where all team members work together to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and support.

The effectiveness of its solutions and the expertise of its team have positioned the firm for further growth. With plans to expand beyond Latin America into North America, the Middle East and Europe within 18 months, AutomationUI’s commitment to delivering exceptional value to its clients remains unwavering.

Its consultancy services continue to transform how services are delivered, sought after, sold and supported. This transformative impact reverberates throughout the industry, much like a chess game where a single move can affect the entire board.

The competitive industry players have been striving to emulate its methods.

“It is something that makes us feel proud,” says Altman. “It signifies that AutomationUI has not only transformed how we operate but has also set a new benchmark for the entire industry. Our commitment to innovation, efficiency and client success has a deep resonance, inspiring others to follow in our footsteps.”

AutomationUI is a shining example of what can be achieved when a company dares to break the mold. As it continues to pioneer new approaches and inspire change, AutomationUI does not just play the game—it redefines the rules, one move at a time.

“Innovation is the magic of this century; thanks to it we make the impossible possible, we make magic,” says Morales.
